Keep your feet dry and do some hiking and Mountain Biking at the resort (bikes are free). Make sure you check out the Lodge Aurora Room for snacks, pop, frozen pizza (& pizza oven) etc. But, it you plan on exploring Voyageurs National Park you need to know it’s a water-based park; you must take to the water to fully experience the lakes, islands, and shorelines. The French-Canadian voyageurs of the late 1700s and early 1800s didn’t mind a wet foot or two. Ask its about the naturalist-led tours are offered at Voyageurs.
Get on the water! Each cabin comes with a boat slip and we have an extensive dock system, with full electric ground fault hookups. We sell gas, oil, bait, tackle, clothing, gifts, snacks and refreshments at our Lodge Trading Post. Before you cook up a short lunch you need some fish! Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Crappies and tasty Perch are common in the Park.

Julia Coffman reviewed Northern Lights Resort — 5 star. I am a city girl on the East Coast without many opportunities to get well beyond the people and the noise and the traffic, and the etc. I've found Northern Lights Resort to be a beautiful respite with wonderfully friendly owners who make you feel at home while you are far away. The views, the accommodations, and the service all are just impeccable. Thank you!
