Do we have a wilderness retreat with something for everyone to enjoy for you! Get ready for a "full stringer experience.” There are over 3,000 lakes in this area of the Superior National Forest. Our Housekeeping Cabin 1 is clean, hot and cold running water is serviceable, and the main appliances such as refrigerator, stove, shower, dishes, pots and pans are supplied. We also include pillows, linens, blankets, gas furnace, and picnic tables are on grounds.
We are a remote, private and scenic Resort on the shores of the Vermilion River. With only a handful of cabins on the river, and the public access to the river difficult to navigate, YOU WILL NOT FIGHT FOR THE BIG ONES WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR.
ATV/UTV rider's, we are near the Voyager's ATV Trail system, and have plenty of old logging roads for you to venture out on for you and your group!!
You could cruise the river taking in the sights and sounds, hike the area or just relax on the riverside. Golfing and restaurant's are just a short distance away.
We are pet friendly for a $30.00 fee per pet.
We have direct access to approximately 17 miles of navigable fishing or sightseeing to the river system. If you prefer smaller, more tranquil waters, the Vermilion River has no equal. There are wider stretches of the river too, much wider. Fishing large bays, such as Horseshoe bay are really like fishing lakes. The river is banked on both sides by wild rice and due to water fluctuations, there is no steadfast depth. On the average it varies from 10 to 30 feet with some holes that are 50 feet. We are the only resort on the North end of the 49 mile long river
ATV/UTV/HIKE/BIKE/SIGHTSEE THE WATERFALLS IN THE AREA/WALK OR RIDE THE ATV TRAIL OR RIDE THE MANY OLD LOGGING ROADS BEHIND THE RESORT/CANOE/BOAT/HUNT OR FISH AND JUST RELAX IS WHAT WE HAVE INSTORE FOR YOU.
NEARBY THERE IS SHOPPING, OTHER WATERBODIES TO VISIT AND A CHURCH AS WELL.
Boat launching is free for guests or rent one of ours. Daily and weekly rates available
This is one of the finest smallmouth and Northern Pike fisheries in all of Minnesota. In fact, you’ll be fishing where few fishermen reach. One of the greatest ways to explore the area is by water.
Inquire about our GUIDED BEAR HUNTS. Get away to the rugged and remote beauty of Northern Minnesota's Superior National Forest and the Canadian Border Waters. Bear hunting is excellent. Baited stands are provided by a licensed guide in Northeastern Minnesota bear management area in zone 25. Northern Minnesota also abounds in Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse and Duck.

This place is still great! It's now going to be our getaway place. Good fishing on the Vermillion River and absolutely gorgeous scenery. This year we happened across a moose swimming across the river, as well as a few little spotted fawns and mamma. It's kept up nicely, no trash or dog poop all over, lol. We will be going back again next year! Thanks Leif and Jesse. See ya in 2014. Tammy E. Roberts, WI
My boyfriend went here for a three day weekend and were very happy. The cabins were nice, had fridges, stoves, showers and all dishes. All you need to bring is towels, any paper towels and personal items. It was a very remote area along the Vermilion River so it was very quiet. Jesse, the attendant, was very nice and helpful w/ anything you needed. Plan on bringing any groceries you need ( a small grill too, there are a few but just in case) since it's not an easy jaunt to the grocery or liquor store. They do have ice there, though. We can't wait to go back next year. Thanks Leif and Jesse for a wonderful time!!
Jake Reese— 5 star. This place has the best fishing in Minnesota for pike. I have also caught walleye and smallmouth bass here.
