If privacy, lakeshore and a heavily wooded surrounding are tops on your cabin list then our Timber Ridge will not disappoint. Spend lots to time just steps from the lake on the Lakeside deck relaxing on the patio furniture. Fire up the charcoal Weber grill and wow your family with great meals every day. Eat inside or outside on the picnic table.
Inside the cabin is a well-stocked kitchen with full-size gas range, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, small electrical appliances, fully-equipped with dinnerware and cookware. Even with 14 other cabins at our remote Big Lake Wilderness Resort, you’ll experience lots of privacy. Why not bring more family and friends? Larger groups can rent multiple cabins and still vacation together.

Being surrounded by the Superior National Forest provides some excellent biking opportunities along gravel surfaced forest roads and mountain biking trails. Grab your boots, water bottle and a snack because there are over 400 miles of hiking trails too - discover scenic vistas, clear lakes, carnivorous plants, even historic railroads. Get behind the wheel for a Discovery Auto Tour - three nationally designated Scenic Byways and Drives. ATVing is another unique way to get out and enjoy the Forest.
Our Timber Ridge cabin guests can use the kayaks, canoes and paddleboats for free. We will help you with all of your fishing,
hiking, and canoeing needs.
From serious anglers to kids using the bobber & nightcrawler approach, you can count on catching fish. Big Lake is one of the DNR's top-rated walleye lakes - and also holds northern pike, smallmouth bass, and perch. Bring your boat and use the boat nearby public launch, or rent one of our 14’ or 16’ equipped fishing boats, or the pontoon boat.
