Looking for a cabin as far from civilization that you can still drive to? Our Dakota Cabin is part of our 16 well-spaced cabin resort in the wilderness. How remote is this place? We're the most remote drive-in resort in northern Minnesota. Dakota cabin sits off the water, but has an awesome view of the lake and an over-sized deck where you'll spend time enjoying family time and making memories.
Maximize your “outside time” by using the supplied charcoal Weber grill, picnic table, and patio furniture. The camp chef will also appreciate the well-equipped kitchen with gas stove and oven, microwave, drip coffeemaker, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, and plenty of dinnerware and cookware.
Satellite Tv
Sleeping arrangement: Open bedroom. One side hosts a queen bed, the other hosts a set of twin bunk beds. Full bath with tub.
All guests have free use of resort paddleboats and kayaks, and swim raft. Explore neighboring lakes and streams too: We'll supply the boats/motors or canoes and assist with transportation to enhance your Superior National Forest experience. You plan and book directly with us, so we can give you lots of local exploring tips.
Big Lake is one of the DNR's highest rated fishing lakes in northern Minnesota, so you'll surely want to spend some time exploring these productive waters right outside your cabin door.
With 14 wilderness islands and miles of beautiful shoreline, Big Lake is a day trip that is right out your front door. Hop in your boat, or rent one of our 14’ or Deluxe 16’ fishing boat/motor combos. You can rent a pontoon boat - a great way to enjoy a full day on the water for your group. Pack a lunch and the cooler and find quiet bays, sandy beaches and legendary fishing. When you return to the cabin, Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass or Perch will fill the fry pan and your tummy.
Your Dakota Cabin is near several points to the BWCA-Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Today, "you” and your family are modern day Voyageurs! You can paddle one of the most incredible places on earth - pristine lakes and spectacular sunsets. The is a solitude experience you’ll never forget.
